Facets, Links and Hashtags
Bluesky detects links, mentions and hashtags as "facets" using byte offsets. Unicode fonts inside a hashtag or mention break that detection, so #tag and @user must stay in plain text. Styled text around them is fine and does not affect link detection.
Cross-Posting with X and Threads
Many people post the same text to Bluesky, X and Threads. Unicode bold and italic characters can be copied between them, but their appearance and acceptance may differ by app, field and device. Keep important words in plain text for readability and search. Check each serviceโs current character limit before posting.
