Square

Squared letters come from Unicode's Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement block: each capital letter is drawn inside a square outline (πŸ…‚) or on a filled square (πŸ†‚). Because they are single characters, they paste into any text field and keep their look – no images, no fonts. Numbers are not included in the squared set, so digits are left as typed.

The style is popular for gaming names, Discord and TikTok display names, and "keycap"-style headlines in bios.

How to Use This Generator

  1. Type a word or name (letters only are squared; numbers stay normal).
  2. Copy the outlined or filled version.
  3. Paste it into your name, bio or caption.

Outlined vs Filled Squares

Outlined squares (πŸ…‚πŸ…€πŸ…„πŸ„°πŸ…πŸ„΄, U+1F130–1F149) are light and read well on white backgrounds. Filled or "negative" squares (πŸ†‚πŸ†€πŸ†„πŸ…°πŸ†πŸ…΄, U+1F170–1F189) are heavy and stand out on dark backgrounds like Discord and gaming UIs. Note that πŸ…° and πŸ…± are also emoji on some platforms – Apple and Google may render them as red emoji squares, which is often the desired look but can surprise you.

Where Square Text Works

Squared letters display on every current phone and desktop. They are widely accepted in display names on Discord, Steam, Roblox, TikTok and Instagram (Name field), and in Free Fire and PUBG nicknames within the character limits. Because each square is wide, a long name takes a lot of horizontal space – keep squared names to 6–10 letters.

  • βœ“ Instagram / TikTok name and bio – supported
  • βœ“ Game nicknames – supported, count as one character each
  • βœ“ @usernames – not accepted

Square Text vs Bubble Text

Bubble (circled) letters ⓒⓠⓀⓐⓑⓔ are the round cousins of squared letters and include lower-case forms, which squared letters do not. Squares read as bolder and more "gaming"; circles as softer and cuter. Both pages are linked below so you can compare.

Accessibility

Screen readers describe these as "squared Latin capital letter S", so a squared word is read slowly. Use square text for a short name or one word, with the rest of your bio in plain text.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are numbers not squared?+
Unicode has squared letters A–Z but no squared digits in the same style. Use the Number Font Generator for circled or bold digits.
Why does πŸ…° look like a red emoji on my phone?+
A and B (and O, P) in the filled set are also defined as emoji, so Apple and Google draw them in colour.
Are there lower-case squared letters?+
No – squared letters are capital-only. Lower-case input is converted to the capital square.
Can I use squared letters in Free Fire or PUBG?+
Yes; each square counts as one character against the name limit.
Is the square text generator free?+
Yes.
