Twitch has no text formatting anywhere โ€“ not in chat, not in your bio, not in stream titles or panel headings. Streamers use Unicode fonts to make a display name recognisable in chat, to structure the About panels, and to make a stream title stand out in the directory. The fonts are plain text, so they render in the web player, the desktop app, mobile apps and chat overlays.

This page includes the styles that survive Twitch's small chat font best, plus a few streamer-specific decorations.

How to Use This Generator

  1. Type your display name, a panel heading, a stream title or a chat message.
  2. Copy a style โ€“ Bold and Small Caps are the most legible in chat.
  3. Paste into Twitch settings, the Stream Manager or chat.

Where Twitch Fonts Work

Your login name is fixed and plain, but the display name can change capitalisation and, on many accounts, accept Unicode โ€“ it is what viewers see in chat. Stream titles (140 characters), the profile bio (300 characters), panel titles and panel text, and chat messages all accept Unicode. Channel point reward names and emote prefixes are restricted to plain characters.

  • โœ“ Display name โ€“ shown in chat; Unicode accepted on most accounts
  • โœ“ Stream title โ€“ 140 characters, appears in the directory
  • โœ“ Bio and About panels โ€“ full support
  • โœ“ Chat messages โ€“ full support, subject to channel moderation settings
  • โœ“ Emote names and reward names โ€“ plain text only

Chat Readability

Twitch chat is small and fast-moving. Heavy styles (Gothic Bold, Filled Bubble) are visible but hard to read at chat size; Sans Bold and Small Caps are the practical choices for a display name. Some channels enable "block non-standard characters" in AutoMod or use bots that time out Unicode spam โ€“ styled names are fine, but styled paragraphs in chat may be filtered.

Stream Titles and Discovery

A single bold word or a ๐Ÿ”ด marker at the start of a stream title draws the eye in the category directory, but Twitch search and recommendations match plain words, so keep the game name and keywords unstyled. A common pattern: ๐Ÿ”ด ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ โ€“ road to Diamond | !discord.

Overlays and Alerts

Overlay tools (StreamElements, Streamlabs) render chat and alerts with system fonts, so Unicode-styled names and messages appear in overlays exactly as in chat. If your overlay uses a decorative web font that lacks the mathematical alphabet glyphs, styled characters fall back to a default font โ€“ test once before going live.
