Spotify Playlist Name Fonts – Aesthetic Text for Playlist Names & Bios

Spotify playlist names and descriptions are plain text fields that accept any Unicode, which is how the lowercase-spaced and symbol-decorated playlist titles you see in shared playlists are made. The style is part of a playlist's identity – ☾ ʟ ᴀ ᴛ ᴇ ɴ ɪ ɢ ʜ ᴛ ᴅ ʀ ɪ ᴠ ᴇ ꜱ ☽ says as much as the cover art.

Styled names show identically on desktop, mobile, in the car view and in shared links, because Spotify renders the characters with the device font.

Playlist names (100 characters), playlist descriptions (300 characters) and your display name accept Unicode. Folder names on desktop do too. Artist names, track titles and album names are set by distributors and cannot be changed by listeners. Your username (the account ID) is fixed.

Lowercase spaced small caps signals a "vibe" playlist; script with ✧ or ♡ suits romantic and soft playlists; monospace with 📼 fits lo-fi and retro; gothic and double-struck suit metal and hyperpop. Descriptions often carry a single decorated line ("♪ for the 2am drive home ♪") and plain text for the rest.

Spotify search matches plain words, so a fully styled playlist name is hard for other people to find by typing. If discovery matters, keep one plain keyword in the name or description – for example "☾ ʟᴀᴛᴇ ɴɪɢʜᴛ ☽ late night drives" – and let the styled part carry the look.

Small caps, script, full-width and symbol characters render on every Spotify client. Car displays and some smart speakers with limited fonts may show boxes for rare symbols; ☾ ✧ ♪ ♡ are safe. If a name looks wrong on a car screen, the phone still shows it correctly.
